03#Electropolishing#[Topic] New Electrolytic Polishing Technology

One performance characteristics

    1. This electrolytic polishing solution has a wide range of applications, and can be applied to stainless steel of various materials of 200, 300, and 400 series.

    2. The electrolytic polishing solution does not contain chromium ions, which meets today's requirements and saves equipment investment and waste water treatment costs.

    3. The current density of the electrolytic polishing solution is small, the voltage is low, and the power consumption is more than 1 times lower than that of the traditional process.

    4. The electrolytic polishing liquid has high efficiency and good quality, and can be polished to a mirror surface in a few minutes.

    5. The electrolytic polishing solution has a long service life and is easy to maintain and manage.

2. How to use

The original solution is used, the lead plate is used as the cathode (negative electrode), the workpiece is used as the anode (positive electrode), 60-90 degrees, the current density is 10-25 ampere/square decimeter, the voltage is 8-10 volts, and the time is 5-8 minutes.

Recommended process flow: (degreasing and rust removal activation→water washing→air drying)→electropolishing→water washing→passivation→water washing→neutralization→water washing

Three matters needing attention

     1. This electrolytic polishing solution will generate foam during electropolishing at the initial stage of its use, so the distance between the surface of the polishing solution and the top of the polishing tank should not be less than or equal to 15cm.

     2. Before the stainless steel workpiece enters the polishing tank, the water remaining on the surface of the workpiece should be removed as much as possible. Excessive water entrained in the workpiece may cause serious pitting on the polishing surface and local corrosion, resulting in the workpiece being scrapped.

     3. In the process of electrolytic polishing, the iron and chromium elements contained in the stainless steel workpiece as anode are continuously converted into metal ions and dissolved in the polishing liquid without depositing on the surface of the cathode. With the progress of the polishing process, the concentration of metal ions increases continuously. When a certain value is reached, these metal ions are continuously precipitated from the polishing liquid in the form of phosphate and sulfate, and settle at the bottom of the polishing tank. For this reason, the polishing fluid must be regularly filtered to remove these solid deposits.

Four waste liquid treatment

It is discharged after treatment with "Hongchang brand-electrolytic waste liquid treatment agent", which has no harm and fully meets the requirements.
