The announcement shows that the regular supervision and inspection of the Provincial Quality Supervision Bureau involved 229 batches of wood coatings products produced by 179 enterprises in 9 cities (districts) including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Jiangmen, Zhongshan, Zhaoqing, Huizhou and Shunde. 14 batches were found to be unqualified, and the discovery rate of unqualified products was 6.1%. Among the 14 batches of unqualified products found in the inspection, items such as volatile organic compound (VOC) content, halogenated hydrocarbon content, methanol content, yellowing resistance (168h), and pencil hardness were involved.
According to the "2013 Announcement on the Quality Status of Provincial Periodic Supervision and Inspection of 6 Products including Upholstered Furniture in Guangdong Province" issued by the Guangdong Provincial Bureau of Quality Supervision, in the inspection of wood coatings, it was found that Xinghanbang Industrial Co., Ltd., Longxi Town, Boluo County Xinghanbang NC quarter-gloss clear topcoat (CN-54218kg/barrel), Auke brand oxygen bar semi-dumb clear topcoat (AL4807) produced by Foshan Aoke Chemical Co., Ltd., and Foshan Shunde Crown Coating Industry Co., Ltd. The PU5-point matte clear topcoat (H-395) produced by the company was all detected with excessive volatile organic compounds (VOC) or halogenated hydrocarbons. It is understood that excessive VOC and halogenated hydrocarbons can cause cancer and cause serious harm to human body.
In addition, an "ally" NC color-resistant and whitening primer produced by Shenzhen Alliance Chemical Co., Ltd. and a "Changrun" NC matte clear topcoat produced by Huizhou Changrunfa Paint Co., Ltd. are both caused by methanol. The content exceeds the standard and fails. A "Yicai" PU (polyester) yellow-resistant matte finish produced by Shenzhen Meibao Paint Co., Ltd., a "Qianba Song" PU yellow-resistant and bright white produced by Guangdong Chiba Pine Chemical Co., Ltd. The topcoat has unqualified indicators of yellowing resistance.
The excess of carcinogens in many paint brands has caused the paint market, which has been stirred up by various rumors in the recent period of time, to make waves again.
