The growth rate of various major economic indicators has slowed down, the downstream production and sales situation is not good, the labor cost of raw materials has risen, and the pressure of structural adjustment has become prominent.
Despite the obvious slowdown in growth rate, there is a fact that we must face: China's coatings industry is still an industry with low added value, which has been hovering at a low profit margin level of 5% to 10%, and the proportion of products with high technology content and high added value. Not high; the innovation investment and innovation power of enterprises are insufficient, the products are lingering at the low end, the industrial concentration is not high, and the homogeneous competition has not been fundamentally resolved. Based on this, industry insiders judge that at present, industrial structure adjustment, product upgrading and innovation-driven development are the main contradiction and main direction of the coatings industry.
After the baptism of the international financial crisis and the European debt crisis, the growth of China's coatings industry achieved a "soft landing" in 2012. What is even more commendable is that it has taken solid steps in transformation and upgrading. In 2013, the development of China's coatings industry was still in a period of important strategic opportunities. The clients of the coatings industry showed a positive trend. Industrialization, urbanization, informatization and agricultural modernization were accelerated. Growth provides a broad arena.
These favorable factors provide a rare opportunity for the coatings industry to get out of the predicament and become bigger and stronger. The paint industry should fundamentally change the concept of production, marketing, use and consumption, take a new path of differentiation, integration of paint and coating, subdivision and specialization, and accelerate the transformation to green development, so as to realize the dream of a powerful country in China's paint industry.
